Animal products are the most abundant source of protein, meat being extremely rich in it. Some protein foods have hardly any fat at all and are therefore particularly important in ones daily diet, for example, lean cuts of beef, turkey, certain offal, white fish, prawns, crab and so on.

Egg white is the best source of protein, and what's more, it has no cholesterol, you can create a never-ending range of tasty, filling recipes using egg whites.

Cereals and legumes also contain proteins, but these proteins have too many carbohydrates.
